Aikido classes at Renseikan Dojo are taught by our chief instructor, Ward Jardine. He is assisted in classes by his experienced blackbelt Aikido students.

Ward Jardine is the owner and chief instructor (Sensei) of Renseikan Dojo in Pickering,
Ontario. In addition to teaching martial arts full-time for the past 30 years,
he also created and ran a martial arts program within the Montessori school system for
10 years, and facilitated several martial arts workshops in the Ontario public school system. Sensei holds a rokudan (6th degree black belt) in Matsubayashi-Ryu Karate and the title of Renshi was awarded him by Soke Nagamine in Okinawa, Japan. He holds a Godan (5th dan black belt) in Yoshinkan Aikido and a Godan (5th degree black belt) in Shinto Muso Ryu Jodo and a Shodan (1st degreee black belt) in Kodokan Judo. He has also trained in Iaido and Kempo Karate. He has trained extensively in the martial arts for over 35 years. With over 30 years of experience teaching the martial arts, he has instructed thousands of children and adults in Karate-do, Aikido, Judo and Jodo. He has also been a guest participant/instructor at martial arts demonstrations in Canada, the United States and Japan. |

Renseikan's Alumni Aikido Blackbelts
Carl Ignatius has trained under Sensei for over 20 years, in the martial arts of Karate,
Aikido, Jodo and Judo. He began his Aikido training in 1997, and his Jodo training in 2000.
He currently holds a shodan (1st degree blackbelt) in Aikido and a shodan
(1st degree blackbelt) in Jodo.
Ian Azevedo started his Aikido training many years ago mainly under Takashi Kimeda Sensei, 9th dan
in Toronto. He took some time off to be with his growing family but has returned to Aikido and is
now training at Renseikan Dojo under Jardine Sensei. He currently holds the rank of shodan (1st degree black belt)
