The Zen Living Martial Arts Centre is the home of Renseikan Dojo which is a full-time martial arts school located in Pickering, Ontario. We provide instruction in the traditional martial arts of Shorin-Ryu Karate, Yoshinkan Aikido and Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo. In addition to basic and advanced martial arts skills, each of our disciplines also contains a self-defense component. Our chief instructor, Ward Jardine, has been training students in the Durham Region (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa) and east Toronto area (Scarborough) for the past 25 years. At our dojo, we view our students' self-development to be far more important than the achievement of rank. We understand how intimidating starting a new activity can be, and have structured our classes so that beginners can work comfortably in a class with intermediate and advanced belts. We have developed this Web site to provide you with information about our dojo, the martial arts we teach (Karate, Aikido, Jodo,) , our philosophy and our instruction.
